Thrushes Galore!

Last night, I heard several Song Thrushes flying over, but not a lot else, despite the clear conditions...

Today, they were the most conspicuous bird by far. I counted about 15 in my corner of Seaford, a fairly good count. Other migrants were just a handful of Meadow Pipits, Swallows, Chiffchaffs and Goldcrests. There was also a small movement of Goldfinch and Chaffinch overhead, but nothing substantial and no other finches...

Tonight, I heard my first REDWING  of the autumn, always a fairly pivotal moment I feel. I also got a great view of one of the cub foxes raised locally, as I was walking my dog.

It's 21:47 now, and I've decided to keep my windows open tonight, and see how many more Redwings I count before I drift off.

Til then, hasta manana!

  1. - New Photography Blog

Hi Liam, it sounds like you are having a great autumn so far, and I hope it stays that way! I noticed your comment on my horribly out of date birding blog. The thing is, I have kind of stopped writing that, and I have made a blog that's supposed to be dedicated to my photography, but actually may well become a full birding blog. Its not very popular at all, with only 4 followers and no comments on it at all, so it would be much appreciated if you followed and linked the blog in some way, but its entirely your choice :).

I also noticed how you have bars underneath your title photo that link you to your birding highlights and stories etc. I was thinking of doing this with my photography blog, and I was wondering if you could tell me how you were able to do it? Thank you if you can!

  2. Hi Joseph, posted a comment on your blog with all the info you should need. Now following you and just about to update the links on my blog. Hope it's alright if I take off your old blog if you're not using it anymore.

  3. Hi Liam,

Thank you very much for your kind words, following and linking on my blog and giving me the necessary information, it's much appreciated. And that's fine, it may well be that that blog becomes totally defunct so all in good reason.
